WINIFRED was 96 years of age at the time of her passing in Canton, MI.
She was born on October 28, 1916 in Highland Park, MI, and was the proud, generous matriarch of a large, loving and lively Irish family. An unapologetic Democrat, a fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings, Winifred had hoped to live to see Hillary Rodham Clinton be the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee. She was retired from the J.L. Hudson Co. She was a keen observer of the human condition, a voracious reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, and an eager Pinochle player.
Winifred is survived by sons, Daniel (Barbara) and Patrick (Zachare); daughters, Kathleen (Tom) Kish and Christine.
She is the adored grandmother of Kevin (Deborah) McKane, Maria (Tom Kowalski) McKane, Monica (John Schulte) Kish, Michael (Kristal) Kish, Patrick (Naomi) Kish, Timothy (Teresa Masiarczyk) Kish and Tiffany (Eric Meyers) McKane; and the joyful great-grandmother of Kevin McKane, Patrick McKane, Savannah Rheinhart, Seamus Kish and Sophia Meyers; a sister, Gladys and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Wednesday, October 2nd from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning, October 3rd at 11:00 am at the St. Thomas a`Becket Catholic Church located at 555 S. Lilley Road in Canton.
Winnie's ashes will be privated buried at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
