William Elmer McQueen, BILL, passed peacefully, just three weeks shy of his 88th birthday. A veteran of the United States Army, Bill served proudly, and cherished the decorations and citations he received during World War II, including 4 Bronze Stars. Married to his beloved wife, Catherine, for 65 years, and self-employed, Bill and Catherine raised 3 children: Cynthia K., Scott B., and Catherine S. (Dennis) Wiedenbeck. Bill is adored by 3 grandchildren: Gregory Dattolo, Steven Dattolo, and Erin Wiedenbeck; and 2 great grandchildren: Sienna Dattolo and Jaelynn Dattolo. He is survived by one dear sister, Shirley Jenks. The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 6th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bill will be in-state on Tuesday morning, at 12:30 p.m. until the time of Services, 1:00 p.m. at Ward Presbyterian Church, 40000 Six Mile Road (at Haggerty) in Northville. Full Military Honors will follow at Grandlawn Cemetery in Detroit. Memorials are suggested to The Salvation Army, and envelopes are available at the funeral home. Please share a memory or thought.
