Virginia Blanche was born on April 2, 1924 in Oak Creek, West Virginia. Virginia, as she was fondly called grew up on a farm in the southern United States with her parents and seven siblings.
She remembered lots of animals on the farm, including cats, dogs, rabbits, squirrels and ground hogs! As a child, she picked beans for ten-cents per bushel and the money was used to buy her school clothes.
Virginia met her husband Gordon, and they were married when she was seventeen. Their wedding was simple and at her home. Virginia has six children: Daniel, Robert, Thomas, Virginia Ilene, Richard and Penny. She spent most of her life as a stay-at-home mother and greatly enjoyed raising her children.
In her spare time she loved to make chocolate fudge candy and pop popcorn. She always enjoyed visits from her children along with her grand children.
Visitation will be at the Manns-Ferguson Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Road (S of Six Mile) Thursday 12:00PM to 4:30 PM with Services at 4:30 PM.
