Vicki L. Kubus, age 70, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Taylor, Mich. She was born February 14, 1952, adopted daughter of Lee Pope.
She is survived by her husband, James, sons James II and Stefan; daughter-in-law Andrea; and grandchildren Cameron, Ava and Benjamin.
Vicki married James Kubus in 1974 and lived in Hawaii from 1974-75, working as a dental hygienist. She also did some modeling work before ultimately becoming a devoted full-time mother and wife. The two moved to Ohio briefly before making a permanent home in Livonia, Mich.
Vicki was an avid hockey fan, and loved watching her two sons play along with the hometown Detroit Red Wings. She was also a devout Catholic, loved Snoopy, chocolate, lighthouses, and being surrounded by family.
Despite battling multiple sclerosis for over 40 years, Vicki always had an infectious smile on her face, and carried an admirable attitude and radiantly-positive outlook on life.
Family, friends and others whose lives Vicki touched are invited to the viewing (10:00 a.m.) and mass (11:00 a.m.) at St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Catholic Church (29015 Jamison St., Livonia, Mich.) on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 to celebrate her new life with Christ.
