Theodore (Ted) John Hoinka passed away in Southfield, Michigan on July 25, 2019 at the age of 79. Ted is predeceased by his parents, Edward Hoinka and Rose (Owsiany) Hoinka, and by his sister, Dolores Strickland. Ted is lovingly remembered and survived by his three children, Steven (Andrea), Mark (Jennifer) and Dawn (David), his grandchildren Madison, Jake and Jordan, his former wife, Sandra (Hogan) Lang and his niece Colleen Strickland. Ted was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1940. He graduated from Belleville High School in Michigan and went on to serve in the United States Army. Ted worked at Northwest Airlines in Romulus, Michigan for 43 years before retiring in 2005. As a teenager Ted learned photography; he excelled with his camera and took many stunning photos. Later in life, Ted enjoyed spending time outdoors; he was a skilled hunter and fisherman and a competitive archer and marksman. Ted was well-known in the Lakes of the North community of Mancelona, Michigan where he spent much of his free time. The visitation for Theodore Hoinka will be held at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Road, Livonia, MI on August 22nd from 5pm until 8pm and on August 23rd from 2pm until 5pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 47445 West Huron River Drive, Belleville, MI on August 24th at 11:30am with Pastor Frey officiating.
