Theodore John Hoinka

Theodore (Ted) John Hoinka passed away in Southfield, Michigan on July 25, 2019 at the age of 79.   Ted is predeceased by his parents, Edward Hoinka and Rose (Owsiany) Hoinka, and by his sister, Dolores Strickland.   Ted is lovingly remembered and survived by his three children, Steven (Andrea), Mark (Jennifer) and Dawn (David), his grandchildren Madison, Jake and Jordan, his former wife, Sandra (Hogan) Lang and his niece Colleen Strickland.   Ted was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1940.  He graduated from Belleville High School in Michigan and went on to serve in the United States Army.  Ted worked at Northwest Airlines in Romulus, Michigan for 43 years before retiring in 2005.   As a teenager Ted learned photography; he excelled with his camera and took many stunning photos.  Later in life, Ted enjoyed spending time outdoors; he was a skilled hunter and fisherman and a competitive archer and marksman.
