Steve Minich, 62, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away suddenly, on Thursday, October 5, 2017, of a heart condition. Visitation will be held at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Road, Livonia, Michigan, on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Northridge Church, 49555 N. Territorial Road, Plymouth, Michigan 48170. Associate Pastor Wayne Kurtycz of Northridge Church will be officiating. Steve was born in Lansing, Michigan, on September 12, 1955. He graduated from Everett High School, and attended Lansing Community College. Steve was married to Beth Willemsen on November 29, 2003; they were blessed to be happily married for 13 years. Beth was the sunshine of Steve’s world as he was of hers. Steve worked as a business analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for 25 years. Anyone who knows Steve knows he was a huge running enthusiast. Beth fondly described him as having “crazy runner brain.” Steve was actively involved with his church, Northridge, in Plymouth, and with the World Vision organization. Steve ran many, many races to raise money for World Vision, to provide water for others in countries where water is not readily available. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Beth, his son Aaron, his step-sons Adam Brooks (Shawna), Jared Brooks (Clarice), Danny Brooks (Michelle), his grandson Vincent Brooks, his father-in-law Patrick Willemsen and his brother-in-law Chris Willemsen, sister-in-law Linda Willemsen, brother-in-law Patrick Willemsen (Laura), brother-in-law Bill Willemsen, brother-in-law Paul Willemsen (Lucy), and sister-in-law Peggy Atalla (Fouad). Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Minich (Corr) and father Louis Minich, brothers David Minich, Ronald Minich, mother-in-law, Patricia Willemsen, granddaughter Dahlia Brooks and brother-in-laws Tom Willemsen and Jim Willemsen. Steve will be missed by his loving family and many, many friends. His spirit will shine on brightly. Steve was kind and friendly to every person he crossed paths with.
