BOB was 84 years of age at the time of his death, the beloved husband of Betty. Bob and Betty were longtime residents of Redford Township before moving to Botsford Commons in Farmington Hills. He is the dear father of Paul (Rose), and Ann (Richard) Heinicke; and survived by adoring grandchildren: Lauren, Carley, and Mike Zimmerman, and Gretchen Heinicke. Bob is the brother of Joyce Moore, and the late Bill and Joanne Zimmerman. Bob served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and went on to a career in teaching, largely in the Farmington Public Schools. He was a member of the Detroit Federation of Musicians, Local 5; played with and conducted the Redford Symphony, Big Band Express, Franklin Village Band, as well as other musical groups. Bob got his start as a graduate in Music Education from Michigan State University, where he was member of the MSU Marching Band and later, the MSU Alumni Band. A passionate volunteer, Bob worked with the Red Cross, Wayne County Library for the Blind, and the Fort Street Open Door Soup Kitchen in Detroit. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13th from 2:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final visiting will take place during the In-State period on Friday at 10 a.m. until the time of Services at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church located at 27475 Five Mile Road just west of Inkster, in Livonia. Bob and Betty have been members of St. Paul's for many, many years!
