Robert Charles Mullen, aka Bob Mullen, 84 years old, Redford Michigan passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024.
Bob was born in Southfield Michigan on October 12, 1940 to Delbert C. Mullen and Celestine Schonhofen. He was one of 9 brothers and sisters. Bob graduated from Salesian High School and continued on to receive his business degree from Walsh Business Institute.
Bob was married to Mary Jo Meyers on May 2, 1970 and were married for 54 years.
He proudly served in the National Guard from 1963 to 1969.
Bob was employed by the National Bank of Detroit (NBD) for 42 years. He began his career there in the coin department and went on to become a branch manager and then a district manager. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis Club, served on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Boys and Girls Club, and was a member of several Chamber of Commerce. He retired in 2000 due to health issues.
Upon his retirement Bob enjoyed woodworking and painting Halloween lawn decorations and patio brick characters, and doing jigsaw puzzles. He was involved with the Redford Chamber of Commerce making their Memorial Day Parade floats (which won first place each year), and helping at their scholarship fund raising events.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary Jo Mullen, his son Gregory Mullen, son in law Brian Dishman, grandchildren Abigail Dishman, Emma Dishman, Connor Dishman, Brendan Mullen and Sara Mullen, and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving daughter Amy Mullen Dishman.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM with services at 6:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.
