Porter Lorien Creasman

August 27, 2002 — February 25, 2024

Livonia

We are sad to announce the passing of Porter Lorien Creasman of Livonia. He died at age 21 on February 25, 2024. Porter passed away surrounded by loving family, after a battle with an inoperable brain tumor/cancer.

Porter was born on August 27, 2002, to Jennifer Wycoskie and Brandon Creasman, in Southfield, Michigan.

Porter was predeceased by his father, Brandon Creasman and his grandfather, Wayne “Pop” Creasman.

He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Monette (Wycoskie), Daddy Ray Monette and his sister, Morgan. Also survived by Grammy Jan & Grampy Dave Wycoskie, "G" Shirley Creasman, Poppi Ray & GaGa Judy Monette, Brian and Tiffany Wycoskie (Uncle & Aunt), Allison and Allen Bonds (Aunt & Uncle), Adam and Brooke Monette (Uncle & Aunt), his adopted Aunties Charity Mendoza and Cathy Ankenbrandt Escobedo and many beloved cousins.

Porter is a true friend.  Living the truth.  You know exactly where you stand with him.  Porter gave everything and wanted very little.  He has a connection to the earth and all her majesty.  Porter is a man of little words but his communication comes from his eyes and heart.  Porter has eyes like the knowledge of galaxies.  His heart so vast you can bathe in it.  His earthly body is gone but his spirit is here with us always.

Porter was born into love and music which was ever present in him, through him.  Porter has a drum and guitar both providing comfort, safety, and peace.

“Music and love is all you need”
-Steve Kimmock

We could look to Porter for an example of perseverance and inner strength, as he continued to fight battles in health and limitations that would crush many of us. He showed us what it is to be strong, because strength is not just found in being the biggest, the toughest or the fastest. Strength is found in one who keeps on going, keeps trying, day after day, long after others give up.

Porter taught us about kindness, patience, loving without condition; perhaps the most beautiful and pure example of love that exists. He made that kind of love exist. He made it possible.

Porter gave us the gift of unconditional love. Unconditional love is loving even when it hurts, even when it’s not easy. It’s loving because you simply can’t help but love. That is the greatest triumph of any life. To love and be loved. Porter taught us how to love without words, without limits, without reasons.

As we go through life, we create ripples in the minds of those we know. The ones we love, the lives we touch, the people we meet and the impressions we leave behind are evidence that we exist.

The ripples made as Porter passed through lives, will continue to grow and touch others through us, because in ways large and small, he affected the way we live our lives, the way we feel, and the way we think. He is not gone, he lives on through us all who had the privilege to call him friend.
