Phyllis Rosemarie Serafa, age 93, of Livonia, Michigan, was born into eternal life on July 10, 2019. Phyllis was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 2, 1925, to Catino and Emilia Vizzini. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1943 and became a legal secretary and stenographer at the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, and Stone until the birth of her first child. She was married to Charles Joseph Serafa on April 29, 1950. They were married for 28 happy years. Phyllis was very involved in the Redford Suburban League. She actively followed her children’s participation in sports, especially hockey and baseball. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, fishing, cooking, going to garage sales, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by six children; Emily Serafa Manschot (Peter), Charles Michael Serafa, Sharon Toth (Robert), Cheryl Walker (Brady), Stephen Serafa (the late Julie) and Mark Serafa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Rachel Mileo (Jesse), Eric Manschot (Alysa Miller), Charles Toth, Rebekah Ferguson (Jeff), Brian Masterson (Joelle), Jeremy Walker, Anthony Serafa, Stacey Toth (John Simmermon), and Nicholas Serafa. Her three great-grandchildren are Rosalie Mileo, Bradyn Mileo, and Meadow Masterson. Her parents, her husband, her brother Michael Francis Vizzini, her sister Philomena Vizzini, and two grandsons, Joseph Toth and Flint Smith, preceded her in death. Visitation for Phyllis will be held Monday, July 15th from 2:00 - 8:00 PM with a Sharing and Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154. Phyllis will be In-State for final Visiting on Tuesday, July 16th from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Genevieve - St. Maurice Catholic Church, 29015 Jamison, Livonia 48154. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations in Phyllis’ name may be made to the charity of your choice.
