Patricia Leonard, 87, passed away October 7, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Detroit on September 16, 1937, to Zigmond and Helen Goslawski, where she joined her older sister, Irene. She graduated from St. Andrews High School in 1955 and soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Raymond Leonard. They married on August 16, 1958, in a very traditional Polish wedding which involved a whole day of festivities. Together they raised three children, Sandy, Renee and Tony.
Patricia was also known to her family as Patsy or Pat. She loved to cook Polish food and took pride in making homemade pierogi, golumpki, kluski noodles and various Polish soups. Pat enjoyed playing Pinochle and more recently, Crazy Eights, with family and friends, but Bingo was the game that earned her the title of “Bingo Queen” because she had “lady luck” by her side. She would often win every time she played. She also filled her time crocheting and enjoyed making blankets, hats and scarves for those she loved or to show gratitude to people who went out of their way to help her. Word searches and coloring books always surrounded her to keep her mind busy.
Patricia is survived by her children, Sandra Lund, Renee (Philip) Michalek, and Anthony (Paula) Leonard; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Robert (Meghan), Rachel (Christopher), Matthew, Brittany, Sarah, and Katherine; two great grandsons, Henry and Dylan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and sister, Irene.
