Myron Eugene Herzog

January 20, 1931 — December 21, 2020

Myron Eugene Herzog passed away peacefully on December 21st. Myron was born in 1931 to Paul and Stella Herzog in Detroit, Michigan. Myron was the middle child of three; sister Geraldine (Martin) and brother James (Herzog). Myron is survived by his three children, Todd Herzog (Barbara), Constance Miller (Arthur) and Susan Bowlin (Glenn); his 2 step-children Jeffrey Smith (Karen) and Kelly Wilk (Jeffrey).   Myron has 5 grandchildren from his first marriage, Andrea, Ryan, Hilary, Edison, Rachel; 2 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Elise. He also has 4 step-grandchildren, Cristina, Jacob, Eric, Alison from his marriage to Sandra. Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and countless friends also made up a big part of his life.   Myron served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Myron also served his community as a Fire Fighter for 40 years. He retired from the Dearborn Fire Department at the Rank of Battalion Chief and then served as Fire Chief for Green Oak Township Fire Department. He also was part of the Lions Club and Elks Club, volunteering and helping others for many years.  Myron will be remembered for his many stories, jokes, sense of humor, his fire house recipes and his Love for his family.   Visitation will be held Monday, December 28th from 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlbelt, Livonia 48154. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be held for immediate family only.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Myron may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter.
