Merold H. Eichsteadt

Merold “Mel” H. Eichsteadt, 83, of Livonia, MI passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021

He was born in Dearborn, MI on March 21, 1938, to Henry and Josephine Eichsteadt. Merold was married to Rosalie on May 11, 1957; they were married for 62 years.

Merold worked as a Produce Manager for the Borman Food Corporation for 38 years. He continued his career as a Business Agent for the UFCW for 7 ½ years. Merold enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, going to the casino, deer hunting and golf outings.

Merold is survived by his daughter Catherine Braun; sons, Christopher (Virginie) and Donald (Janice); grandchildren, Sarah and Brian (Carrianne) Braun, Tyler, Mailys, Lydie, and Lyle Eichsteadt; great grandchildren, Camden and Mackinley Braun.

Merold is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie, his mother, Josephine and father, Henry.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Michigan Humane Society.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 29th from 3:00 – 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.

Merold will be In-State on Friday, July 30th from 10:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh, Livonia 48154.
