Mary "Wada" Shimbo

Born March 16th 1921 in Los Angeles, CA. Mary was the first of seven children. She passed away in her Canton, MI. home on June 4th 2007 at the age of 86. Widow of Nobuo (Nobie) Shimbo, she is survived by sons, Robert (Fara) & Carl (Tonda), granddaughters Tonda Rose, Mary, Anne Marie & Lynda Shimbo, sisters Terri & Mickie, brother Shioji and numerous friends from St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Livonia, where she was a member. She was interned in the Poston, Arizona Japanese Internment Camp in 1942 and married there before moving to Detroit, MI. in 1943. Over the years she worked for the YWCA, Curnow Mortgage Corp. (later Capital Mortgage), Schram Realty and retired from Computer Mail Services of Southfield in 1996. Visitation Manns-Ferguson Funeral Home 17000 Middlebelt (S of 6 Mile) Thurs. June 7, Noon to 3 & 5 to 9 pm. Funeral Service Sat. 10 am at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church 30900 W. 6 Mile with visiting at 9:30.
