Mary Lamoyne Kaunisto, 97, of Plymouth, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Lamoyne was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on August 6, 1921 to the late Julian David Boncher and Catherine “Kate” Murphy Boncher. She graduated from Rudyard High School, and then completed secretarial courses. She was married to Edward Emil Kaunisto on December 27, 1941. They were married for 40 years until his death in 1981. Lamoyne raised their five children and then worked at various companies in secretarial and accounting positions. She was active in church and neighborhood groups while living in Plymouth, Farmington and Tawas, Michigan. After her retirement, she moved to Fairmont, W. Virginia to be closer to her sister and their children. She loved traveling and spent winters in the Tampa, Florida area and summers traveling to Michigan and Colorado to visit children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Karen Eisenbrey, Catherine Bradbury and her husband Richard, James Kaunisto and his wife Susan, David Kaunisto and his wife Sandra; six grandchildren, Joel Kaunisto and his wife Kelly, Rachel Eidel and her husband Jeff, Sarah Bradbury and her husband Ryan Yates, Michael Bradbury, Katie Chock and her husband Steven, and Andrew Kaunisto; four great grandchildren, Keira and Chloe Kaunisto, Cora and Claire Eidel. Lamoyne is preceded in death by husband Edward, son-in-law, Authur Bradley Eisenbrey, and daughter Carol Kaunisto; her brother, Bernard Boncher and sister, Elizabeth Catherine Wilson. Services will be held at a future date with interment in East Tawas, Michigan.
