Mary Bruzos, 84, of Livonia Michigan passed away on October 6, 2018. Mary was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on September 11, 1934 to Spanish immigrants: Pilar and Manuel Bruzos. At a time when it was rare for a woman to pursue higher education, Mary paid her own way through Mary Grove College and graduated with a Teaching Degree, in 1963. She spent 30 years in the Livonia Public School District, teaching at McKinley Elementary School. She retired from teaching in 1993. Never married and with no children of her own, Mary’s career, faith and many philanthropies gave her the most pleasure in life. She loved to travel with her friends. Mary continued to teach others after retirement at her church to those that wanted to learn Spanish. Mary will be missed for her gracious heart, fierce dedication to teaching, and continual loyalty to others. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ramon Bruzos. Her legend is being carried on by one nephew, two nieces, and nine great nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mary will be held Friday, October 12th, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Victory, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville 48167.
