Marc Gregory Althouse

Marc Gregory Althouse, 76, of Westland, Michigan, passed away on July 1, 2024 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Marc was born on November 11, 1947 to Marian and Vyrl Althouse. He grew up in Southgate, MI and later attended various colleges and universities in southeast Michigan prior to focusing his career on computer hardware. Marc honorably served in Korea in the United States Army where he was a proud member of the Army band playing French horn. 

Marc enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, music (French horn), genealogy, and military history, all of which he pursued with vigor and enthusiasm. 

Marc is survived by his children Kate Althouse (Jason Gardner) and Matthew (Stacey) Althouse, his three beloved grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marian Althouse; father, Vyrl Althouse; his brothers David and Paul Althouse; and grandson William Althouse. 

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice of Michigan and Angela Hospice for their loving care in the final months of Marc’s life.

Memorial donations to honor his memory can be made to the Michigan Humane Society, Berman Center for Animal Care in Westland, MI.
