Juan "Johnny" Reyes Jr.

Juan "Johnny" Reyes Jr. passed away December 1, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.   Johnny was born on June 7th, 1961 to Juan and Caroline Reyes Sr.   Johnny is survived by his loving wife Teresa Reyes.  His father Juan Reyes Sr., bothers Ronnie (Lori) Reyes, Philip (Angela) Reyes, sisters Donna Reyes, Teresa (Tony) Reyna and Aileen Reyes Hernandez.  He is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews plus ten great-nieces and nephews that he loved very much.  From his mother Caroline's family he is survived by uncles Hugh (Janine) Smith, Rollie (Dawn) Smith and aunt Toni Vollmer. Along with many many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends from both sides of the family.   Johnny was preceded in death by his mother Caroline Reyes, brother Billy Joe Reyes, Grandparents Guadalupe and Celestina Quiroga, Guadalupe Reyes, Casey and Eleanor Perry, and Don Smith and by several uncles, aunts and cousins.    Johnny loved spending time with his family fishing, boating, and camping.  He was an excellent barbequer that was taught by his father Juan Sr. and loved having family and friends over for cookouts and bonfires.  He loved being in the outdoors and working in his garden and yard.  Johnny loved taking his nieces and nephews to the Thanksgiving Day Parade and making hot coaco for them.  He loved to attend sporting events like Tigers baseball, Red Wings hockey, Lions football games and music concerts with all of his nieces and nephews. He adored his step-daughter, Meagan and also loved to take care of his special little fur baby Eddy.   Johnny was a man of a strong work ethic and worked in construction his whole life. He was a big strong man that was really a teddy bear at heart. He was caring and would do anything to help someone in need if he could. He was a loving family man that cared deeply for all of his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.   Visitation for Johnny will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.   Burial will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Grand Lawn Cemetery, 23501 Grand River Ave, Detroit 48219.
