John E. Flint, 83, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away on May 8, 2019. John was born in Detroit on July 4, 1935 to John and Lucille Flint. He graduated from Cooley High School and continued on to receive his BA at Detroit Institute of Technology in Business and Engineering. He married his high school sweetheart, Nan, on August 9, 1958; they were married 60 years. John worked as a Data Processing Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan until he retired in 1988. He owned Flint’s Music Makers for the next 25 years and was known as the “Music Man” and took his calliope to many parades and festivals throughout the state. John is survived by his wife, Nan; son David (Kim); daughter Dawn; grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Wood, Janelle (Mike) Adams, Gretchen Grade and Charles Grade; four great-grandchildren and sister Ruth Dodgeson. Visitation for John will be held Sunday, May 12th from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 13th at 10:00 am at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154.
