Helen Nagrant passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Peter Nagrant, RPh, she is survived by her children Carole (Stephen), Paul (Barbara), Susan (Robin), Stephen (Janet), and Dr. Barbara Jean; grandchildren Margaret (John), Rachel, Paul (Kathryn), Stephen Jr., Eric, Catherine, and Rebecca; great-grandchildren Alexander, Penelope and Peter G. She is preceded in death by her parents, Prof. John and Mary Maceyko, twin sister Ann, brother John Jr., sister Mildred, son Peter L. and grandson Anthony. Helen is also Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania on October 12, 1922. She was very active in her church and was one of the original founding members of Sacred Heart Byzantine Catholic Church in Livonia, MI. Helen was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Legion of Mary, and the Sacred Heart League. She really enjoyed cooking and baking, and helped produce a cook book for her church that contains many Slovak dishes and holiday favorites. Family suggests remembrance gifts be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen or The Father Solanus Casey Guild.
