Gloria Mae (Plafchan) Piechota 89 of Livonia Michigan passed away on Oct. 24, 2020 after a heroic battle over the last 6 months with cardiac and vascular disease. Gloria was born in Detroit Mi on May 21, 1931 to Anna and Alex Plafchan the youngest of three girls. She graduated from Chadsey High School in Detroit. After many career turns, she worked as a pioneer in computers and ended her career at Livonia Public Schools prior to retiring. She was actively involved in Sacred Heart Byzantine Church and Purple Heart charities. She loved animals and was wonderfully involved in her grandchildren’s lives never once missing any occasion to celebrate their accomplishments. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Juopperi and her son-in-law Larry Konst as well as her grandchildren Reece and Maison Scheuer. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews and is survived by other family and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her ex-husband Walter Piechota, parents Anna and Alex Plafchan and her sisters Charlotte Turbiak and Aileen Karlewski. Visitation for Gloria will be held at Sacred Heart Byzantine Church at 9 am Oct. 30, 2020 to be immediately followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11 am at Sacred Heart Byzantine Church Catholic Church, 29125 W. Six Mile Rd. Livonia, 48152. Memorial Donations in memory of Gloria can be made to the Michigan Humane Society, or a Veterans charity of choice.
