Frances J. Galeano (Hough), 87, of Livonia, Michigan, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, and Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on August 18, 2017 of cancer. Frances was born in Farmington, Michigan on July 27, 1930. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing degree from Wayne State University. She spent her whole life caring for others as a registered nurse in numerous hospitals, nursing homes, and home health care agencies. While she was a nurse at heart, she was a dynamic administrator holding leadership positions as head nurse, director of nursing, and administrator of several home health care agencies. Her most valued experiences were when she was able to care for the terminally ill as well as her time visiting the Dominican Republic with Hope International Ministries. Frances is survived by her youngest sister Marilyn McCallister. Her children Mark Holthus (son), Kurt and Debi Holthus (son and daughter-in-law), Joan and Matt Dorman (daughter), Jill and Scott Larkins (daughter and son-in-law). Grandchildren include Christopher Holthus (Deborah), Joshua Holthus (Tiffany), Amber Holthus, Jeremiah Holthus (Marti), Matthew Julian, Katelynn Colley, Zachary Colley, Jacob Colley, Brandon Larkins (Bryanne), and Justin Larkins. Great grandchildren include Bryce and Ryleigh Holthus and Grace Taylor and Emily Blanton (Christopher and Deborah), Jackson and Connor Holthus (Joshua), Frank Jr. (Amber), Grayson and Judah (Jeremiah), and Weston (Zachary). Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Raymond Holthus, her second husband and love of her life Carmelo Galeano, her brother Frank Hough, and sisters Nancy McGowan and Phyllis Newkirk. A celebration of her life will be held on October 7, 2017 from 12-4 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia, 48154. Reverend Kurt Holthus will officiate a service immediately following the visitation from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.
