Ernoe Berdy, 87, of Livonia, MI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 20, 2020.   Ernoe was born on September 2, 1932 in Budapest, Hungary to Erno Berdy and Katalin Berdy, he was an only and very active child.  He did complete two in years of college but due to the state of Hungary he participated in two different armed forces and eventually US Army. He was very passionate about his services to his country.   At some point, due to his passion for Ice Staking he became a professional ice skater, traveling throughout Hungary and other countries. When Ernoe was representing Hungary in ice skating, he attempted to defect to the West. He spent the next year in jail after being captured. In 1956, he escaped into Austria during the Hungarian Revolution.   Ernoe spoke five different languages and enjoyed opportunities. Ernoe eventually made the journey to the United States where he met his lovely wife, Adelaida.   Ernoe was married to Adelaida Berdy on January 24, 1958; they were married for 62 years.  They lived in Washington- DC, Utica-Michigan, Ponce-Puerto Rico, Waukegan-Illinois, Livonia/Northville-Michigan. Enjoyed Youtube videos of all the things going on in the world as well as educational pieces. He also shared with his wife the passion of watching baseball (Tigers) and hockey (Black Hawks/Reg Wings).   Ernoe was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather that crossed half the world to provide an amazing opportunity to his family. He loved life, he loved people, he loved talking, he loved adventure, we remember growing up, he had all sorts of fun cars: Fast, Convertible, Motorcycles, Vans and for the kids, Minibikes, Go-Carts.    Ernoe’s years in Puerto Rico were some of his best, he loved the culture, family and friends. He loved to eat, and the Puerto Rican food was one of his favorite things to eat: Lechon asado, carne frita, tostones, morchilla.  Of course, he still loved his Hungarian food, which my mom cooked for him.    Dad/Grandpa was our patriarch of the Berdy family and instill to always love each other. Be kind with each other, be loyal to each other, be genuine and giving of yourself to each other.    As a Husband, he loved his wife (Delly) to no end, he always said he was the most blessed man on earth for the incredible women God had given him.  Adelaida (Delly) was his everything and he could not be grateful enough for this God sent blessing.   For those that knew Ernoe, you will forever have a piece of him in their hearts.
