Dorothy Margaret Dwyer

March 15, 1929 — January 31, 2025

Livonia

Dorothy Margaret (nee. Kline) Dwyer, 95, of Livonia Michigan, passed away on January 31, 2025.

Dorothy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 15, 1929 to William C. Kline and Hattie (nee. Miller) Kline. She graduated Salutatorian from Mount Mercy High School in 1947.

Dorothy married Gregory J. Dwyer on June 23, 1956; they were married 68 years.

She worked as a secretary for an accounting firm in Grand Rapids until her marriage, when she moved to Detroit, Michigan. She was active at St. Priscilla Catholic Church, volunteered at her children’s school in multiple areas. Dorothy volunteered for 38 years, 6100+ hours at St. Mary Hospital Livonia, primarily in Radiology. She attended her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting, extracurricular and band activities.

Dorothy loved her second home on Blue Lake where she enjoyed summers since she was a young girl. In the cool of the morning, she would enjoy a good long walk to check out the neighbor’s flowers. She excelled at driving the boat so her kids could enjoy tubing and skiing for hours on end. Though not a water-skier herself, she coached multiple nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy loved her blue peddle boat and enjoyed a good peddle in the calm morning waters, as well as during the beautiful evening sunsets. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always home after school with a hug and a snack or standing at the window waving safe travels.

Dorothy is survived by Gregory and three children, Ronald J (Michele) Dwyer, Diane (Jeffery) Parks, and Thomas J (Amy) Dwyer; four grandchildren, Eric, Megan (Robert), Tyler and Zachary; one great grandchild, Violet Dottie. She is also survived by 40+ nieces, nephews and their families.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie Kline; brother, Donald Kline; sister, Donna (nee. Kline) Jensen; sisters-in-law, Rose (nee. Platte) Kline, Catherine (nee. Dwyer) Thompson, Joan (nee. Reilly), Patsy (nee. Dwyer) Powers, Sr. Marie Andre’ (Joanne), Marjorie (nee. Dwyer) Cantin, Mary (nee. Dwyer) Kline, and Barbara (nee.
