Dorothy Louise "Edwards" Crook

Dorothy Louise Edwards Crook passed away the evening of Friday, March 24, 2017 at the age of 96. On February, 1, 1921, Dorothy was born in Flat Rock, Tennessee to Silver Bowling and Thomas Edwards. Dorothy married in 1940 to her husband, Richard Homer Crook, who proceeded her in death. Dorothy and Richard moved to Detroit, Michigan when Richard was transferred with the United States Navy. During World War II, she proudly stepped up to help the war effort by working in a Detroit factory as a riveter. When she was not busy raising four children, Dorothy loved to dance, read, play bingo and learn all the latest tricks to save money. Dorothy is survived by her four children: Rick (Charissa) of Snellville, GA, Mikel (Mary) of Trenton, MI, Marcia (Jack Wise) of Wyandotte, MI, and Connie (Melvin MacDonald) of Livonia, MI; nine grandchildren: Bryan, David, Melanie, Sabrina, Mandy, Kelly, Kevin, Jamie, and Alix, and eleven great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Bret, Austin, Seth, Brad, Tyler, Ava, Jack, Josh, Ellie, and Charlotte. Dorothy was greatly loved and will be missed by all her friends and family. A private celebration of life is being held for the family on Saturday April 1, 2017 at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, Michigan.
