Doris Elaine Knecht

Doris Knecht died Sunday, October 8, 2023, aged 100 years old.  She was born in Kitchener, Ontario Canada on 30 January 1923, the oldest child of Ahrhard Werner Wettlaufer and Martha (Buddenhagen) Wettlaufer. 

She was married to Thomas Wilson Knecht on 30 June 1949 until his death May 27, 1995.  They had two children, Tom and Cyndi.

Doris is survived by her children, Tom (Tori) Knecht, and Cyndi Knecht; granddaughter, Jaime (Knecht) Karwick and great-grandson Noah Simpson.  She is also survived by her youngest sister, Gloria (Wettlaufer) Hagan; goddaughters Karen (Citko) Attard and Lori (Wettlaufer) Hayes, and many loving nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 27475 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154.
