Doris B. Fitchett

DORIS BERNITA FITCHETT was 95 years of age at the time of her death. She was born 'Doris White' at home, in Detroit, Michigan on August 29, 1917. Doris married Lewis Thomas Fitchett on August 20, 1938. Together they raised three children: Nancy Busch (William), Linda Olsen (Roger), and Frank Fitchett (Marilyn). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Lewis, and by her dear son, Frank. Doris is survived and loved by six grandchildren: Matthew Busch (Beth), Jeffrey Busch (Kathryn), Bradley Busch (Catharine), Steven Busch, Cara Bozyk (Paul), and Thomas Pool, and eleven beloved great grandchildren: Ayla, Nolan, Scott, Allison, Nicole, Steven, Jason, Morgan, Noah, Julia, and Jessica. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law and dear friend Betty Dominoe, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Doris was devoted to her family and, with her husband, Lewis, made their family and many dear friends their highest priority. During her lifetime she also worked in several places, with most of her career spent as manager of the personnel office at J.L. Hudson Company in Northland Center. Following her retirement she continued to volunteer with the Hudson Retirees, was a member and volunteer at Dyer Retirement Center in Westland, and was an active member of the Wayne Memorial United Methodist Church, later attending Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills. A family memorial service is planned for a later date.
