David Alan Kahl, age 67, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2022. David was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1955 to Donald F. and Virginia E. (nee Lowe) Kahl. He graduated from Redford High School in Detroit.
As we reflect on David’s life it brings up many emotions and memories. From fishing and camping with his father to the wonderful hard cookies his mother always made, he enjoyed life with family and friends. David loved a good pickup game of basketball along with many jam sessions with his musical buddies. He was passionate about the local Detroit music scene and had a lifelong interest in Rock & Roll. For two years he played professionally with a band in northern Michigan called the Tennessee 2. David lived his life like a free bird. He never married but has a son. He treasured the times he could spend with his son Michael. David always enjoyed meeting new people, was always ready to party and loved discussing politics. David’s memory will live in our hearts forever. Rest in peace Big Dave!!
David is survived by his son Michael Quenneville, brother Richard Kahl, sister Laura (Eric) Heise, niece Asia (Dave) Sellin, nephew Kyle (Larissa) Heise, one great nephew, one great niece and other family and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Virginia Kahl.
Per David’s request we are not having a funeral service. His inurnment will be at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan at a later date.
