Charles T. Grissom

Charles was 83 at the time of his death in the Angela Hospice of Livonia. He is the dear father of the Honorable Cynthia Efird, Charles T. Grissom, Jr., Julie Kate O'Brien, PhD, and the late David Grissom. Also survived by granddaughter, Elisabeth Efird; cousin, Jimmy Grissom; and godchildren, Kim Miller and Greg Powell. Son of the late P.L. and Lorene Grissom; Charles is mourned by many: Ed Peter, fellow parishioners at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Livonia; and fellow residents at Brashear Towers. A World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp, Charles owned car dealerships and motels in Highland Park and Belleville. He was a recipient of a "Detroiter of the Year" award from the Detroit City Council. As a horse breeder, Charles had two entries in the Kentucky Derby.
