Chuck was 62 years of age at the time of his death. He is the beloved son of the late Charles D. and Ruth M. Allegrina. Chuck is also survived by siblings: Thomas, Paul, Christine, Suzanne (John), Margaret, Barbara, and Stephen. He is the dear uncle and great uncle of Michael (Emily), Alexander, Tara, Nicholas, Dean, William, Cameron, and Taylor. And is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Chuck retired as a forensic chemist from the Michigan State Police, in 2005. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan, and he received a Masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the Reserves as a Captain. An avid outdoorsman, swimmer, skier, and scuba diver, Chuck was also a Civil War historian. He traveled throughout the country enjoying these activities, and in retirement, Chuck participated in Civil War re-enactments, along with hunting and fishing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13th from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Steven B. Schafer will officiate. A Marine Corps honor guard will conduct a brief ceremony. Donations are suggested to the National Ski Patrol and the American Red Cross. Please share a thought or memory.
