Carole Nagrant Cook, 74, of Detroit, Michigan passed away on December 19, 2021
Carole (Ann Nagrant) was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 27,1947 to Peter Nagrant and Helen (Maceyko) Nagrant. She graduated from Immaculata High School and started college at Marygrove College. She continued on to receive her Master’s in Education from Wayne State University.
Carole was married to Stephen Cook on June 15, 1972; they were married 49 years.
Carole worked as a teacher in the Detroit Public Schools before becoming a Customer Service Representative for Blue Cross Blue Cross of Michigan. She retired from BCBSM after 25 years of service.
Carole was patient, thoughtful, frugal, provident, and giving. She was erudite, with a sharp wit, and a passion for learning. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, Geocaching and being in nature.
She was actively involved in environmental volunteer work, including park restoration and trash and refuse cleanups.
She has a daughter, Margaret (Cook) Raptis and 2 grandchildren, Alexander Raptis and Penelope Raptis. Her living siblings are Paul Nagrant, Stephen Nagrant, Susan (Nagrant) Walsh and Barbara Nagrant.
Carole is preceded in death by her second child, Anthony Edward Cook, who died at age 2 and a brother, Peter L. Nagrant (b. 1949, d. 2000)
