Beulah L. Coatta

September 6, 1919 — March 18, 2014

We, her family, compose this life story for the loving memory of BEULAH L. COATTA, long time resident of Livonia, who was called to heaven March 18, 2014 at the age of 94.

She is the beloved mother of Susan A. (Bill) Vourex, William A. Coatta, and Linda L. Brown, and the late Janice E. Henneman. As the family grew, so did Beulah's pride and joy; she is the loving grandmother of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is survived by two loving sisters:  Betty M. Lambert of Vassar, MI, Joyce A. Miller of Flushing, MI, and one loving brother Robert R. (Carmelita) Empey of Muskegon, MI. She was preceded in death by her dearest husband William L. Coatta, cherished daughter Janice E. Henneman, two dear great grandsons Patrick Henneman and Michael D. Curry, and seven siblings: Jimmy, Alice, Claude, Harriet, George, Lloyd, and Edison.

Beulah was a kindhearted soul, loving, caring and always had a positive attitude, no matter what. Her strong faith in God sustained her throughout her life. She was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends in a pinochle club, and her flowers and gardening were one of her favorite things to do.

She loved watching the Detroit Tigers and was an avid fan for many years. In her later years, after working for Sanders Ice Cream Co. for 8 years, she loved going to Florida during the winter months with her husband, William, her brother, Edison, and sister-in-law Lorraine. She collected shells from all the many beautiful beaches there, and made beautiful knickknacks, jewelry, lamps, etc with them, giving them away as gifts to her children, family and friends.

Her most precious and favorite times were spent being with her children and grandchildren for holidays, birthdays, card parties, and a lot of very “special” family dinners, and yearly family reunions.

She was a wonderful mother, inspiration and great role model for her children. Susan, William, and Linda were very heavenly blessed to have had her for a mother for as long as they did. It was a pleasure for them to take care of her in her home for the last 2 years. She will be greatly missed beyond measure, a beautiful memory to always treasure.

Rest in peace, Mom, with your loved ones in Heaven, knowing we will all be together again someday. What a joy that will be! Forever in our hearts, forever missing your companionship, your laugh, your smile, and your beautiful blue eyes to look at.
Love, your children, Susie, Billy and Linda.
