Arlene Elizabeth "Birch" True

November 2, 1945 — July 15, 2019

Arlene Elizabeth True, 73, of Northville, MI, passed away on July 15, 2019.   Arlene was born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 2, 1945, to Alfred and Alberta Birch. She was raised in Mays Landing, NJ, and graduated from Oakcrest High School. She went on to study Mathematics and Russian at Michigan State University.   Arlene spent over 45 years working as a writer for Gale and 15 concurrent years working for Detroit Art Services as a writer and project manager. She was a prolific crafter trying her hand at many hobbies throughout her life, but she will be remembered most for her intricate cross-stitch pictures and the ornate beaded ornaments she sold on Etsy in her last few years.   Arlene is survived by her daughters Jennifer Greve and Jessica True, her son-in-law Jim Sincock, her grandchildren Nathan and Katie Greve, their father Spencer Greve, and her sister Beverly Schaeffer.    The Visitation will be held at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt Road in Livonia on Saturday, August 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, with the memorial service immediately following.    In honor of Arlene, we invite guests to dress casually. Bright colors are welcome.   Memorial donations in memory of Arlene may be made to either of these organizations: Angela Hospice https://www.angelahospice.org/donate/ or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: Michigan-Detroit Chapter.
