Aline Heiser passed away peacefully on October 1, 2021. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.
Born in Poland in 1935, Aline immigrated to the United States as a teenager with her brother Ewald, mother Eugenia, grandparents and Uncle Henry. The six first settled in the small town of Menno, South Dakota. After three years they moved to Detroit, Michigan to join family. It was during a vacation in Menno years later that Aline met Dale Heiser one night at Harold’s Beer Garden. Dale will never forget that night. Aline was the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen. For him, it was love at first sight.
Aline and Dale married one year later in Detroit. Their 65 years of marriage was a testament to their love. Two children followed, Ronald and Donna. Aline was a proud mother. She even earned an award from Ron’s junior high school basketball team for attending every game. She encouraged her children, both of which earned advanced degrees and were professional successes. She beamed when she spoke about them.
A breast cancer survivor, Aline volunteered time counseling women who also suffered from the disease. Devout in her faith, she attended Christus Victor Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
Perhaps her greatest role was as “Oma” to her two grandchildren Erich and Lauren. She showered them with love in every way from tubing with them on the Platte River to making their favorite tomato soup, and much, much more. She was proud of their achievements as graduates of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, respectively.
Aline is survived by Dale, Ron and his wife Karen, Donna, as well as Erich and Lauren. She joins her mother and many other loved ones in heaven.
Visitation for Aline will be held Tuesday, October 5th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Manns Family Funeral Home, 17000 Middlebelt, Livonia 48154. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 6th at 11:00 am at Manns Family Funeral Home.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Angela Hospice in Livonia.
