Alex passed away peacefully on October 7, 2017 at the age of 96. A native of Baltimore, an Army veteran of World War II, he relocated to Detroit in the 1940's and settled in Livonia, Michigan. Alex owned and operated Royal Carpet Cleaning and two taverns; The Carriage Stop in Melvindale and the Carriage Wheel in Garden City. In retirement he spent winters in Brooksville Florida. He is survived by a son Andrew (Lori), Livonia; two grandchildren Timothy of Livonia and Emily (Richard) Lisowski, of West Bloomfield and one great grandson Andrew. He is proceeded in death by wife Mary: daughter Helen; his parents Andrew and Georgia Karageorgiou and 4 siblings of Minnesota and Florida. The burial will be private. A special thank you to the care givers of Brookdale, in Farmington Hills and Ideal Senior Living in West Bloomfield for their compassionate care of Alex since 2012.
